The NSW DF65 Travellers Trophy Round 4 was hosted by Sydney Maritime MC on Saturday 17 October 2026. A highly competitive sailing regatta saw ten skippers battle across 15 races, with close racing, changing fortunes and several different race winners throughout the series.
With seven different skippers recording race victories, the regatta highlighted the competitive nature of the fleet. The changing race results ensured that no competitor could afford to relax, with consistency proving just as important as outright speed.
Allen Williams (SMMC) claimed overall victory built on consistency, recording two race wins with an ability to remain competitive across the entire series.
Meanwhile, the close battle between Craig Rolfe (BWRYS), Colin Cooley (WWRYC) and Greg Pugh (PHSSC) provided plenty of interest in the fight for the remaining podium positions.
The contest for second and third was particularly tight, with Craig Rolfe and Colin Cooley finishing level on 44 points. Rolfe secured second place on countback, having recorded four race victories compared with Cooley's three. Both skippers showed excellent speed and competitiveness throughout the series.
Greg Pugh (PHSSC) was another strong contender, finishing fourth overall with 46 points, just two points outside the podium. Pugh recorded three race wins, demonstrating his ability to challenge the leaders, although a couple of difficult races affected his overall standing. Chris Ting (WWRYC) finished fifth overall on 55 points, producing several strong performances, including a race victory.
Bruce Benoit (IRYC) secured sixth place with 60 points, followed closely by Neil Johnson (WHMBC) on 63 points. Both sailors enjoyed moments at the front of the fleet, each recording a race win.
The regatta concluded with just seven points separating the top four competitors, reflecting the closely racing throughout the event.
Weather conditions were generally mild, with temperatures ranging from approximately 11°C to 21°C. Winds were predominantly northeasterly in the morning, shifting easterly to southeasterly during the afternoon. Wind was 6 to 14 knots, at times reaching 20 knots with occasional stronger gusts.
